Everyone has an opinion on it yet, who’s to say that they are a fashionable person themselves? A consensus would tell you what fashion is yet the same pieces that are deemed fashionable have been instilled onto us for generations so has fashion become complacent? Are we too comfortable to explore the unknown? On runway shows we want to be dared and inspired yet all we see is conformity. Fashion is a tool created by the elite to distinguish themselves against the rest, people under would dream of wearing the finest materials and yet the finest materials are easily accessible to us all now. Cosplaying different social classes for entertainment in the same way actors play a role. Have the working women become the new symbol of wealth or are we simply being highlighted as a new character to play? It gives the average woman a reason to belong, finally a piece to them that makes sense; it gives the rarer woman a reason to be hidden, blending in with the rest while still adhering to their upbringing. Has designer become regular or is it being used as a tool of manipulation?
